English language support at Riverside

Understand a task. Ask a question. Join the conversation.

We offer ESL (English as a Second Language) and/or one-to-one assistance. Learning goals, format, timetable and terms are agreed with the family according to the child’s needs.

Support helps children follow instructions, build subject vocabulary and take part in lessons. Each child has their own starting point and pace of progress.

Speak with admissions

Starting with the child

We discuss previous experience, understanding of spoken English and confidence in communication. This helps identify the support that may be needed in the chosen programme.

Language in a meaningful context

New vocabulary connects with a lesson topic, an action or an image. Children need opportunities to hear a word, understand it and try using it themselves.

From words to taking part

Understanding an instruction, asking for help and explaining an answer are different tasks. At your meeting, we will discuss which skills matter most for your child now.

Discussing a support plan

We will explain the available lesson format, timetable, learning goals and fees. Support takes account of your child’s age and selected programme.

Parents’ questions

How do we discuss support when applying?

Tell us about your child’s previous learning and the languages they use. Together, we will discuss the programme, learning goals and support needed. Admission and the support plan are agreed individually.

Is language support included in the fees?

The additional ESL programme is charged separately at the published fee of RUB 30,000 per month. The format and cost of one-to-one assistance are agreed separately. Before enrolment, we will explain what the chosen fee package includes and what costs extra.

How soon will my child speak confidently?

The pace depends on previous experience, practice and learning needs. We will discuss the starting point and how progress can be reviewed.
